Factory AdvantageThe high hygroscopic nature and shear sensitivity of biocompatible polyurethanes like Elastollan 1195A present significant molding challenges. Uncontrolled processing leads to hydrolysis, causing splay marks and compromising structural integrity, which is unacceptable for IP68-rated wearables. Our approach leverages the Arburg Allrounder A 1500T's servo-electric drives and advanced SELOGICA control system. This combination provides the exceptional process repeatability needed to manage the narrow processing window, ensuring consistent melt viscosity and preventing material degradation. For two-shot applications, the machine's vertical rotary table is a game-changer. It facilitates a single, highly controlled overmolding cycle, achieving a superior chemical bond between the TPU and a rigid substrate. This net-shape process, perfected at MechanoFab, eliminates delamination risks and meets stringent ISO 10993 and ISO 13485 requirements without secondary operations.
