This method allows for the integration of ideal fillet radii directly into the design, mitigating the hot tear risks inherent to casting 17-4PH steel. The resulting near-net-shape castings exhibit superior dimensional accuracy straight from the foundry. This MechanoFab strategy significantly reduces the need for difficult post-machining of the thin-walled structures, ensuring consistent thermal performance that meets stringent ISO 13485 and IVD requirements while avoiding the scrap rates that plague conventional multi-step manufacturing.
