Factory AdvantageThe high work-hardening rate of 316L stainless steel makes traditional multi-axis machining of complex liquid handling manifolds exceptionally difficult. By leveraging the massive build volume of our BLT S800, we bypass these subtractive challenges entirely. We print dispensing heads as single, monolithic components, integrating intricate, burr-free micro-fluidic channels directly into the design. This net-shape approach eliminates the assembly and welding stages that compromise co-planarity and introduce corrosion vulnerabilities. The S800's superior gas flow control ensures minimal porosity for leak-proof performance. At MechanoFab, our mandatory stress relief cycle, performed before part removal from the build plate, is critical for achieving the dimensional stability and absolute co-planarity required by automated liquid handling systems, all within a single, consolidated manufacturing step.
